Sheikh Jabbie in South Africa
Imam Jabbie recently participated as a presenter at the 4th International Conference on Islamic Civilization in Southern Africa, a gathering that brought together scholars, educators, and community leaders from across the region. Representing the rich scholarly heritage of West Africa, he presented his grandfather’s renowned work, The 1000 Poem on the Life of the Prophet, a classical text that beautifully preserves the Seerah through poetic expression. His presentation highlighted the enduring relevance of traditional Islamic scholarship and underscored the Sankore Movement’s commitment to bridging historical knowledge with modern educational initiatives.
Guests from Morocco
The Sankore Institute was honored to welcome a delegation from Tangier, Morocco, visiting on behalf of the organization Atlal Events. The group traveled to meet Imam Jabbie and to experience the institute’s Quranic learning environment firsthand. During their visit, they toured the classrooms, interacted warmly with the students, and observed the institute’s commitment to traditional Islamic education. As a gesture of goodwill, the Atlal Events delegation distributed gifts to the students, bringing joy and encouragement to the young learners. Their visit strengthened international ties and showcased the global support for the Sankore Institute’s mission.
